Welcome to my personal website!
Call me Cathy Markova. I'm trapped here in the late 2020s, just like most of us. The future could be worse, though, and I don't mind living in it, really.
I don't really understand the how and why of everybody ending up here. A lot of people seem to feel the same about our world right now. Looking around, I really think a lot of our experience is (still) really beautiful, though.
I think that we're discovering great things, too. Still, the world is also full of so many new things to fear! The problems of the 20th century have only gotten worse.
Does anyone else have the feeling that technology has somehow wrecked our collective sense of time, too? I'm also wondering what science fiction narratives do to our idea of a proper future!
I have trepidations about technology and where it's all going. Don't you? So I’ll write all kinds of tense thoughts as I learn about artificial intelligence and transhumanism. Scary words, frankly.
Currently, a lot of this site is about my quest to understand how all of that changes our world. I'm learning about artificial intelligence, its implications, and where all that might lead. I also post about things like critical thinking, spirituality, and humanity's complicated relationship to fiction.
What story will the future tell?
This site currently has three sections, plus a blog that carries all of them in dated order. Some parts are just beginning, and it will expand whenever I want. You can always contact me here, of course!

The nauseating parts of the news make it even harder to follow than expected. I'll still link news articles, but this site might focus less on that. I want to focus on more optimistic things, even if they're not as relevant to the world. I do what I can.

The assumption is that AI really is as bad (and can be destroyed like) as (say) Sauron or the Empire in Star Wars. We're all leaning on fiction at a particularly volatile time in history.
🛠︎ Agentic traffic surpasses human traffic on the internet.
According to Cloudflare's radar, traffic from artificial intelligence has now surpassed human traffic on the internet. Crawlers and other non-agentic bots have been a significant part of internet traffic for a decade. The rise of agentic traffic, though, has been exponential in just a few short years. Cloudflare's CEO, Matthew Prince, hadn't expected this to happen until 2027. It was never supposed to happen at all.

This site is not explicit but also not appropriate for minors. I exist and am not a bot. This website design was partially implemented through vibe coding, but everything (unless labeled) is original.
